(case study project)
The building's design incorporates split levels that reflect the surrounding urban environment and the High Line park. The facade of the building is made of hand-crafted steel of the Chelsea's industrial history while maintaining the tradition of enhancing public spaces in New York's architecture. 520 West 28th is an 11-story building with 39 residences featuring high ceilings 3 meters, custom kitchens by Zaha Hadid Design, and advanced technologies such as automated valet parking and storage. The building includes multiple cores to provide private elevator lobbies for most residences. Amenities at 520 West 28th include a wellness level with a spa, a 25-yard sky-lit lap pool, a sculpture garden, and an entertainment suite with an IMAX theater. The building commitment is to preserve the character of its neighborhood, which is home to over 350 art galleries and has seen the transformation of the High Line into a public park. 520 West 28th seeks to have its own architectural presence while harmonizing with its surroundings.
